This Mama had a number of goals in mind with their session – first birthday photos of her littlest one, a few family shots, and a series of photos for use on her blog. This session was a while ago now, but I still remember how much I lucked out that day. It was raining ALL day… but as the start of our session rolled around the rain stopped, the clouds parted, and the sun came out to offer some gorgeous late day light. When I was first learning photography, my long time friend Katie let me practice lighting, perspective, etc with her daughter Makayla. Katie definitely knows all the development and growth that my photography has gone through over the recent years, but I was still honored when she hired me to capture the football-family-fun concept she wanted to add to the family portraits this year. These three are all about keeping it light, silly, and most of all FUN – and I hope these photos capture that for them. Thanks for all of the support Katie!

Zen baby! Seriously, I’ve never met a calmer, more serene, or go-with-the-flow baby than the amazing zen baby from this session – she’s definitely an old soul. Her older brother was equally adorable and watching him light up at the sight of tires or car keys was absolutely heartwarming. Want proof? The shot of him alone showcases the glee that follows after spotting a nearby tire and the shot in the top right has him running towards the keys I’m holding. Now that’s a happy face!
